King at his best. I haven't enjoyed a King novel this much since the Shining. His characters are alive, his dialogue real.
Cold Mountain

Beautifully written, good command of the language. Frazier's telling of the story is very well done. Look forward to his second book.
The First Time

I was unfamiliar with Fielding's work, and picked up Missing Pieces at a secondhand store. I quite enjoyed her writing style, loved the easy dialogue, etc. Then I picked up the First Time anticipating a good read. Unfortunately, not he case. The storyline was maudlin, andmore

I was quite disappointed in this book. I thought the storyline was very pedictable and the characters were cliche and one dimensional. This is the sort of fluff one reads while battling a bad cold or the flu. It doesn't require much effort on the part of the reader tomore
