Folly Beach: A Lowcountry Tale
by Dorothea Benton Frank
Beach Read(6/14/2011)
The book was written in an interesting format I had not incurred before. Unfortunately, it took me most of the book to understand why. Maybe I should describe it as a 'pleasant' read in that the story flowed smoothly but nothing particularly grabbed me - characters, …more location, plot. Perhaps I would consider it a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10.(less)
Johanna Moran writes an intriguing historical novel combining the elements of strong family love, friendship and legal turmoil. I was hooked from the beginning. Margaret Oades was an unusually strong and courageous woman which book clubs should enjoy discussing.
