Lima Nights
by Marie Arana
Lima Nights by Marie Arana(12/16/2008)
A sensory narrative about a love-affair and its impact on friends and family, this book submerges the reader in color, aroma, heat and light. It's tropical heat at every level. I felt like I was back in Lima myself, wandering among colonial houses reeking of past wealth, …more jungle scents, and Latin spices.(less)
I enjoyed reading the book. The book moved along well and kept my interest. I like historical fiction. We have traveled to Venice and it was easy to imagine where the story was taking place. It was also interesting how the author based much of the book around food and its …more preparation. It reminded me of the book "The Last Chinese Chef".(less)
