The Spare Room: A Novel
by Helen Garner
Almost got through it without crying (1/9/2009)
I read this book in a night, it's short and bittersweet. I'm not sure how I would have felt about this book if I hadn't had a sister die of cancer, it was more painful to read because I kept thinking of all she went through. I wish I could have cared for her like the authormore

Worth reading (7/11/2008)
I read the book excerpt on BrookBrowse and when I went to my local library, there it was on the new books rack. I was excited to be the first to check it out of the library. I pretty much read this straight through. The story told through the eyes of the daughter ismore
Findings: Faye Longchamp Mysteries, No. 4
by Mary Anna Evans
Nancy Drew for Adults? (5/12/2008)

Resistance
by Owen Sheers

The View from Mount Joy: A Novel
by Lorna Landvik
Fun, Endearing and a Fast Read (9/20/2007)
This is not the kind of book I usually pick up and read, I've never read Lorna Landvik before. BUT I have to say I'm so glad I did. This book makes you laugh, cry and just holds your interest, I could hardly put it down. Joe is such an endearing character, you find yourselfmore
