Louise Thaden, when I became a mother my then husband would no longer allow me to fly. A mother's place was in the home.

I have always loved Amelia Earhart, I liked finding out more about her and I enjoyed the joy she took in her relationship with the other female pilots. Her story will always be a great mystery, it is so sad we lost her so young. After reading this novel I was made aware of how many young women died as pioneers of aviation.

Louise Thaden but that might be because there was so much more information about her and I felt I know her better than the others.

I don't know that I relate more to one than the other. I think I admired each one for different reasons. I'm not a parent, and I grew up in a family with strong women as role models and a father that told me I could do whatever I put my mind to. So, I just appreciated them and their great desire to help women advance as pilots.
