How do you imagine the family ties between Cassie, Tate and Elda developing beyond the confines of the book?

Cassie needs a family, Elda seems to have love to give and Tate needs some people who love her for herself, not her career or her money. I see them spending time together, then Tate drifting back into her Hollywood circles. I see Cassie and Elda staying close, with Cassie enjoying her large extended family.

I think the end of the book gives us a glimpse into their future. At Thanksgiving, Elda and her huge clan surprised her, and Cassie, rather than being upset, was grateful and thought "this is my family". Elda's sons called her "cuz" and Cassie felt that "Two Oaks was finally like the Two Oaks of her dreams--bustling, alive, full". When Tate came, also unannounced, bearing June's self-portrait that she had given Jack, Cassie welcomed her as well. Tate had feared she would be turned away. But it seemed that all parties were making the tremendous effort required to mend fences and build connections. Elda had invited Tate, so their healing relationship completed the circle. Add Nick and Lindie to the mix, and Cassie has all the people who are important in her life around her. They had become a family.

I think their relationship continues, especially with Elda. Cassie is looking for a family and, it seems, has found one. I believe Tate will be around, but not as close as Elda and her family. I like to think that Cassie and Nick stay in the house and raise their own family. It is great to finish a book and be able to dream about a happy future for all.
