What do you think the final novel in the trilogy, Unwritten Laws, will uncover?

The Bone Tree is an epic novel that fills over 800 pages. What do you think the final novel in the trilogy will uncover? Do you think Penn Cage will come out unscathed?

I think the third novel will make some American suspicions and urban legends regarding JFK's murder become true.

I felt I was at a disadvantage having not read the first novel, but after this 800 page novel. I am not sure I can face a third one. I feel fairly confident that as rebeccar says that The author will tie things together, then again I think he will still leave unanswered questions. Penn cage will not come out unscathed..

I think there will be more about the assasination of JFk. I would be most surprised if the author provides us with resolution to half the things we would like to have answers to. I suspect that there is much more drama and danger for Penn.

I hope "Mississippi Blood" won't be the last of Penn's adventures! After partially reading "Natchez Burning," I bought and read all the earlier Penn Cage books to become acquainted with Greg Iles. Then I went back to "Natchez Burning" and "The Bone Tree." Such great writing. I think "Mississippi Blood" will resolve many questions--but there will always be some answers left for contemplation. Penn may come out of "MB" with wounds but he'll be forever.

I hope it brings a satisfactory closure to Dr. Tom Cage's involvement with his nurse. However I feel that Greg Iles will lead us on a merry chase right up to the last chapter. I don't know if he will change anything about JFK contrary to the Warren Report.

I sincerely doubt Penn will come out of that next novel unscathed. He seems to simply attract danger like a magnet no matter how much the character protests that is not so. I doubt that I could even begin to predict what Iles will do with the JFK plotline or even the racial thread that runs through these first two books, but whatever it is I will sure look forward to reading it.

I can't wait to get my hands on Mississippi Blood. I have become so addicted to this series. I'm thinking Penn, Kaiser, Walker, Mackiever and maybe even Walt will be hot on Sonny's trail. We will find out what Tom's fate will be and how Penn survives the aftermath. Greg Iles' Natchez books are big but these 800+ pages just fly by driven by the intensity of the story.
