It seemed that Eve was able to put her situation in perspective once she experienced Anna's decline. No matter what horrible things had happened, she still had the blessings of Clementine, a healthy mind, and the ability to love. Things Anna had lost or would never experience. This certainly made me look at my life differently, as well. This book has reminds me to enjoy the little blessings every day. Something Eve was beginning to do by the end of the book.

I think that at the beginning of the book, Anna was totally caught up in her problems and the changes in her life and in trying to help her daughter heal. After meeting Anna and learning of her situation, she was able to see that there were worse things in life than being without money - that love was more important!

I agree with everyone. I think that doing something for others- no matter how small- seems to help us forget about ourselves and our own problems. I think that this is what Eve experiences.
