Do you think Emma and Dexter ever achieve true happiness?

The novel is preoccupied with happiness. Do you think Emma and Dexter are ever - truly - happy?

No i dont't think they ever achieved true happiness. They were always looking forward to the next thing - what they didn't have instead of enjoying what they did have.

I think they achieved true happiness right at the end, right before Emma's death. No life is perfect, but they seemed to find happiness with each other, despite their issues (infertility, etc.)
