Rachel's therapist accuses her of using racism (her husband's and that of the population at large) as a distraction "from other troubling issues that you're facing." Do you think this is true?

I think in some ways this is true. However, I think she also feels a need to talk about it as a substitute for her own feelings of being an outsider. I think seeing the attitude her husband and the population at large have toward Tyrell makes her think of her own insecurities as an outsider in the world she lives in.
