Granny and A Man Called Ove - CLOSED - please post to A Man Called Ove

Two parts to this question: 1 -Were any other readers unfamiliar with Mr. Backman's previous book A Man Called Ove, and if so did anyone else do what I did -- buy and read the Ove book as well?
and 2. Do you see any similarities between Ove and Granny?

Ove and Granny had both lived long lives and were facing the end. They both still had a lot to give, even though Ove didn't realize it. Both found happiness and love from a young girl and both wanted to do whatever they could for that little girl.
