RE: life

I am not in that situation but I would think that you would live it the same way that you would in any life threatening situation - one day at a time and knowing that you can control your own thoughts and your response or reaction to what happens to you. It is how people survive the loss of loved ones, a crime against them or a serious illness.

Like Elizabeth said, just one day at a time

RE: life

Agreed. One day at a time. Most of life must be lived one day at a time. I’ve had friends with US residency that were threatened with deportation for no good reason. I’ve lived in foreign countries where I could have been deported for no reason. Life isn’t easy or fair.

I also agree - one day at a time. This becomes a political issue for our country - one that needs to be resolved.

This is the horror that brown and black Americans has been living with everyday in our country. As a white female in America, I cannot begin to understand the true depth of their daily fears. This issue must be dealt with in America or we will continue this path to hatred, violence and destruction of our democratic society .

I agree Millicent--this is such a horrifying reality for so many Americans, and empathy on both a personal and governmental scale is critical.

I am always grateful when I read something that changes my perspective on something. This story showed me the real human side of being undocumented. I agree with so many who have said, you live one day at a time. What a powerful story.

Yes, one day at a time and appreciate the good that has happened.
