Spying in Suburbia
I loved this book and I don't even have kids. I think most young mothers would love this book as well but any female reader will like it. It is the perfect summer read. I found it the perfect mix of suburban life and having a job spying for the country. Made me wonder if our female spies do marry and have kids while still trying to do the job. There are serious parts but overall there is a lot of humor here and you will find yourself laughing out loud at Lucy and with Lucy. I thought she was a wonderful character.

By the time I had finished the first chapter I was saying to myself there has to be another book coming. Lucy is just too enjoyable to be in only one book. In some ways it reminded me of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum and we all know how successful that series has been.

It might seem strange for a book like this to be discussed in a book club but I think there are aspects here that one could talk about. Most women do work and raise kids at the same time these days but how about those working in jobs that are quite dangerous. Overall though I think it is simply fun to read and fantasize about being a female James Bond.

If you take one book on vacation this summer, take Original Sin. You won't regret it.

I loved it!
Original Sin, by Beth McMulllen is a fast paced page turner with a plucky heroine (Sally Sin) who “has a license to kill and carpool”! The plot is
full of twists, lots of laughs and the characters are complex, well developed, and interestingly real. I couldn’t put it down! And I didn’t see the end coming! I loved it! I can’t wait for Sally’s next adventure. Keep them coming Ms McMullen and congratulations on a great first book!

okay debut, needs more oomph
Finally finished the book. It started out with a lot of promise, but somewhere near the middle, the book was trying to figure out what genre it fell under. At times, it felt like a really good chick lit, and other times, it felt like a tepid book about something else. I was drawn to the character of a stay-at-home-mom ex-spy, but the story was flimsy at best. It didn't hold my interest long and I'm a fan of adventure spy stories and chick lit, alas, the book wasn't able to blend the two well.

Surprise Ending with Lots of Loose Ends
A surprise ending with lots of loose ends has me looking forward to the next episode in the life of Sally Sin. An enjoyable read with uncomplicated characters makes this book a fun read for busy people who read in short spurts of time.

A Female James Bond Returns
This is a book for the inner Wonder Woman in all of us. A fun read that takes us on a roller coaster ride to the heights of adventure between bouts of domesticity. Sally aka Lucy manages juggling her two identities with finesse and aplomb and we can only look forward to more books in this new series

Once a spy . . .
Lucy Hamilton, a suburban stay-at-home mom who wants to stay that way, was once a spy called Sally Sin. Unfortunately for her, her former agency needs her help to lure her old nemesis out, and they won't take "No" for an answer. This very funny novel has all the earmarks of the first of a series, and I look forward to the next installment of the adventures of Sally Sin.
