Brett Helquist was born in Gonado, Arizona, grew up in Orem, UT, and now lives
in New York City. He earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Brigham Young
University and has been illustrating ever since. His art has appeared in many
publications, including Cricket Magazine and The New York Times. He is best known as the illustrator of the children's books "A Series of Unfortunate Events".
