Sue Monk Kidd Biography
Sue Monk Kidd is a writer, novelist and memoirist. She was born in Albany, Georgia and raised in the tiny town of Sylvester, Georgia. Kidd started out writing non-fiction with God's Joyful Surprise, When the Heart Waits, and The Dance of the Dissident Daughter. Kidd turned to fiction in her forties, starting big with the best-selling The Secret Life of Bees, and following with The Mermaid Chair. Her newest book, Traveling with Pomegranates: A Mother-Daughter Story, is a travel memoir co-written with her daughter, Ann Kidd Taylor. Today Kidd lives in Southwest Florida with her husband, Sandy, and their black lab.
