What do you believe Rosaline hopes to gain by telling Tybalt about her relationship with Romeo? Do you think she did the right thing in telling him, even though it led to his death? What would you have done in her place?

Rosaline trusted Tybalt like a brother. She hoped he would do what she wanted, to make sure Romeo didn't come after Juliet and herself, after she confided in him about her relationship with Romeo. She desperately needed to have someone who was supportive and who would listen to her and believe what she had to say.

I was a bit confused about her relationship with Tybalt through the book. For the longest time, she thought of him as a brother but later felt she was in love with him. She told him because her own brother didn’t pay her any mind but Tybalt did. She knew he was her protector. She may have been too naive to understand the depth of his love.

Friendships are often as complicated as romantic relationships and when that line is blurred thins can spiral out of control, which is what happen with Tybalt and Roseline. Crimes of passion has been coined for a reason, Tybalt’s passion for Roseline’s honor spiraled because he could not rein his emotions in, I probably would have done the same as it was Roseline’s best guess to try and save Juliet…. She underestimated Tybalt’s passion but not sure she could have predicted how strongly he would react. She hoped for the best thinking she could control him but alas it didn’t work.

I think that Rosaline only viewed Tybalt as a friend, perhaps as a friend that is as close as a brother, but not more than that. I think she told Tybalt about Romeo hoping to gain Tybalt as a confidant and protector. I don't think that Rosaline had a clue that Tybalt was romantically attracted to her, and I don't think that she was ever romantically attracted to him, but was horrified to witness the extent he would go to in order to protect her. Their relationship was one of the several that showed the immaturity of the characters.

I think that Rosaline was attracted to Tybalt. Towards the end, after she found out his love for her, she actually considered him as a possible love interest and thought about running away with him. I think she confided in him because they were close, he knew both Juliet and the rogue that Romeo was, and as he was a man he might be able to do something to keep Romeo from Juliet.
