A story of the beginning of civilization, of myth and legend, of the roots of perception and the unavoidable consequences of choice.
Two groups of explorers are unexpectedly separated and marooned on a mysterious, dying planet. One group must learn to survive the harsh rigors of life returned to its primitive roots. The other, fully supplied with modern conveniences, awaits rescue too long. Fleeing a despot commander, they take up residence in an abandoned alien city of tranquilizing beauty.
Unknown to each other, both groups have brought their evils with them. Life becomes a struggle for life or death against those evils in the interior and exterior dimensions, that we by nature straddle as physical yet spiritual beings.

Antonio Felipé Perez did not care to eat his lunch. Neither had he eaten his breakfast. Also, though it was yesterday and useless to waste today's thoughts on, he had not eaten his dinner. He was robbed of freedom. Therefore, while he was a prisoner his body would be prisoner to his own will, and if he wished to kill his body by starving, it was his right. For the hidden man is ever free, subject only to himself. God made it so. To emphasize this dear truth, he lifted and kissed the silver crucifix that hung about his neck.
