This book reminded me greatly of my first love, whom is my husband. It is a true love story and was a very enjoyable, short read. I believe it is the perfect book to read on a quiet Saturday afternoon.

I'm 15. I read this book as a part of my English class at school. I loved the end a lot. It makes you think - very unexpected. However, the whole book is more or less predictable and is a simple and boring love story... a girl might like it.

This book is amazing. It is the best novel i have ever read. Anybody who doesnt read this is truely missing out. Noah and Allies love story is truely remarkable.

The book was overall, good. I might even rate it a 3.5. Nicholas Sparks is a timeless writer, who has written many books luminous with aspiration, imagery, and allusion. I was quite disapointed however, after completeing this novel. Maybe it was attributed to the high praises it received, raising my standards. I did not think it was as well written as his other stories, although it captures the essence of love, hope, and "forever." The plot of the story is beautiful, but I feel as though it was a bit "choppy" and unorganized. None the less, it was a good book--not great. Good. His other books are good reads too. Try Karen Kingsburry as well.

I recommend this book to anyone looking to get into a good love story. The main character, Lon, has a first love and remains loyal to this woman throughout his life, even when she is engaged to the rich man from the neighboring town. The book is very descriptive in it's scenes. The reader can get a great image placed in his or her head about the scenery around the beautiful house that Lon lives in. It was a great book to read and I highly recommend it.

in some ways it reminds me of the movie "sweet home alabama" because she is engaged to another man and goes back to an old love

i would reccomd this book to anyone who needs a great love story!
