Book Sales Up In October

According to the Association of American Publishers, which compiles sales data from 81 publishers, book sales in October were up 14% year on year, but sales for the year as a whole are down by 0.3% to $7.8 billion.  The categories that made significant gains in October include audiobooks, up 47% to $23.9 million; ebooks, up 34% to $2.1 million; adult hardcovers up 29% to $295 million and adult mass market paperbacks, up 25% to $76.4 million.
