What mother's want this Mother's Day is a day to relax with a good book!

May 08 2007

BookBrowse polled 930 mothers to ask what they would like this mother's day. Only 4% wanted flowers or chocolates, 6% were tempted by jewelry; less than 10% wanted to be taken out for a meal or receive a homemade gift (the latter is probably low because only a fraction of mothers surveyed have young children). What did the rest want? Almost a quarter chose an hour at a spa; a further 23% simply wanted a day to relax; and 22% said they'd like either a book store gift certificate or a book they've been wanting to read. So, the answer is clear; if there's a book-loving mother in your life, cancel the flowers, dispense with the chocolates, and instead give her a day to relax with a good book!
