What do you think the future holds for Sophie, Anna and Elise? If you were writing the book's sequel, how would their continuing story unfold?

In a sequel I think the Council of Clan Mothers will be even more bonded and working together. Sophie's commitment to support the next generation of female doctors and other healers will come to fruition. I can imagine detailed stories about many of these women.
Since every generation has it's evil characters, there will be lots of opportunities for murders and other crimes.

I wonder if Anna will have a healthy child, or lose it? The author doesn't shy away from killing off characters, apparently, so I'm not sure what direction this plot line will take.
Sophie will open her school amidst various challenges, and will find love.
I think Elise is heading toward becoming a forensics person, which will be a great set-up for future books.

I agree with kimk but I sure hope Donati decides to continue the tale of these women in book #3 so we don't have to write it! Sophie sure seems to be primed for some excitement with the acquisition of another property, the opening of her school and a possible love interest or two.

I see Sophie so busy with her school and possibly a hospital that romance does not stand a chance for her. She will become the matriarch for this family and a community leader. Anna will be motherly while continuing as a physician. Her role will be divided but less stressful and offer a home focus. Elise will venture into the arena of forensics and her activities will continue to keep law and order as a focus of the novel thereby giving Jack and Oscar a place in future novels as well as the press!
