At one point, Kathryn refers to Leon as the Tin Man. What parallels can you see in The Wonders and The Wizard of Oz? What other parallels can you make with Christos, Kathryn and Rhona?

I have been pondering this question a lot and didn't know what to say so I guess I will start the discussion. I actually see Leon more in the "Cowardly Lion" role; I'm not sure why. Christos reminds me of the great wizard who is hiding behind the curtain trying to make himself seem bigger than he is. I know I am totally off base but can't wait to hear what others have to say.

Both are written as fantasies. The characters of each novel are made out to be real persons, but are so obviously beyond such they are only a spectacle.
