If you wear perfume, what is your favorite? Do you wear the same one all the time, or have different ones for different occasions? Have your tastes changed over time, and if so why?

I have a few favorites. Depending on the season and occasion I might select an alternative scent. Luckily my favorite blends with all seasons and occasions. I do enjoy experimenting but a woman's preferred scent is much like her signature.

My signature scent is "Calypso" by Lily Bermuda, a perfumery on the island of Bermuda. They make many wonderful fragrances. I also love "Coral" and "Pink." "Calypso" is a fresh fragrance that is billed as unisex. I also love Jo Malone's Grapefruit perfume for winter. Although it sounds citrusy, it actually has a heavier, spicier scent than you might expect. Fragrance is such an important part of enjoying life! I also love scented candles.

I've always admired women who have a signature scent. I feel like I've been on a lifetime quest to find "my" perfume. But at 54 I have to admit to an inability to commit. I like trying new fragrances and one of my favorite gifts is getting a gift sampler of perfumes. Right now I'm loving Prada's Candy and Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue.

In college the only perfume I ever wore was L'Occitannes Roses et Reines. These days I switch between my spring/summer perfume of Aya Blu, and my fall/winter favorite L. Eau de Parfum. I know I enjoy their scents and that they work well for me, so don't see a reason to switch it up more than seasonally. Besides, having a scent that makes people think of you appeals to me.

Growing up I loved Shalimar. Then for a while I loved Oscar de la Renta. However, I now prefer a scented body lotion for a lighter scent, and like nancyh mentioned above, more and more people seem to be intolerant of/to scents. There's nothing worse than being bowled over by someone's perfume that the wearer must think is great and that is not to one's own nose.

Over the years I have changed fragrances often. However, the last 10 years I have settled on Miss Dior. They have a newer one named the same but completely different scent. It is nearly impossible to find in the U.S. so I usually buy some when overseas. I wear it everyday as I feel it is a very classy fragrance.

I remember my fiance really wanted me to have a scent - baby powder was the extent of my experimentation before we met. It took a long time before we found something that we could agree on. Channel was too overpowering for example. We finally settled on Lancome's Poeme. Now, I am experimenting with essential oils. They don't last as long but they are easier to switch up.

I hardly ever wear perfume but this book made me want to explore this again. When I do wear it I wear Boucheron...I love it..but only during the winter as I feel it's a little too heavy for summer.....seems like you should wear something light, flowery in the summer. My tastes haven't changed because I don't wear it much.
I usually only wear perfume when I'm "dressing up". I don't "dress up" very often!

Unfortunately, I have had an intolerance for most perfumes, as well as heavily scented candles, for a long time. There are some lightly scented perfumes that are pleasing, but have had to steer away from many fragrances.

I wear perfume every day. I love it. I especially love when someone comments on how good I smell. For a while now I have worn Bond No. 9, sometimes I wear Jo Malone.
Many years ago, my husband had a secretary who wore Joy, and he always commented to me about how good she smelled. As you can imagine, I was jealous. I went to a department store and sampled it, when I came home, he said that it didn't smell good on me. She wound up having an affair and marrying a friend of my husband's. Go figure.

I also wear perfume on a daily basis. I've noticed that my appreciation for complex scents hasn't changed over time, but due to chronic migraine headaches my enjoyment of these scents has changed. In my 20s I wore Anais Anais before moving to No. 5 by Chanel. I wore No. 5 before moving on to Shalimar by Guerlain and Zen by Shiseido (white bottle fragrance not the classic Zen in the black bottle). I'm now in my early 50s and wear White Patchouli by Tom Ford in the fall and winter, before moving to something light like Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden for spring and summer. (The only reason I no longer wear Zen by Shiseido is because the fragrance was discontinued, then reintroduced after a reformulation and it just doesn't have the same attraction as the older formulation.) I've noticed that certain strong floral notes will trigger an immediate severe migraine with nausea: tuberose, jasmine, gardenia, roses, and lilies. It's interesting to note that I fell in love with a new Guerlain scent back in 2000. I received a sample of the fragrance, wafted it through the air on a perfume blotter, and had to have it. My then husband purchased a bottle of the Eau de parfum for me, I applied it, and it smelled like a popular bug repellant spray on me. My husband wore it and it smelled divine.

My favorite perfumes are Ysatis, Angel, and Tosca. I definitely prefer florals. I do not have just one that I wear as I change a bit to match my mood or who I am with. My tastes have changed over the years. As I grow older I find myself using only a limited few favorites. When I was younger I experiments with many different scents. But I have found that I definitely prefer the florals so tend to wear only those.

I taught with a woman who would end up in the hospital if anyone wore perfume to work. Now that I've retired, I've been wearing old scents like Taboo that were popular when I was young and are inexpensive now. I got Chanel #5 as a gift, so I wear that. I've never noticed anyone having a signature scent. I think a lot of women I'm around don't wear scent.

I love to smell perfume on others and did wear in the past perfumes that weren't overly musky or fruity but now some of the places I go, such as choirs, ask us not to wear perfume due allergies. Too bad!

I received a nice sample perfume that I fell in love with and then lost the bottle and can't remember its name. I had checked before losing it online how much did it cost and it was $88. That's one of my problems I always seem to like the expensive ones. I wore Beautiful for years. Recently I discovered Cashmere by Donna Karan and I'm down to the very bottom of the bottle. When I was in my 20's I wore Le Dix and men always told me how much they loved it. I would have them come up and say I'm not trying to hit on you but I would like the name of your perfume to buy it for my wife. I stopped wearing it and about 20yrs ago I wanted to find it. I couldn't find it anywhere. Now we have the internet and I found it and when I put it on it smelled bad on me. I stuck with some perfumes for years I have been wearing Chanel #5 since my 20's and I am still wearing it and I am in my 60's. I basically stick with one for awhile with other perfumes being used also.

I adore perfume. I even grow plants outside in summer that are used in perfume. My very favorite is Songes by Annick Goutal. I love a multi layered, beautifully made perfume. Small niche houses are my go too. That is why I thought the premise of the book was terrific. Some facts rang true, just a little unrealistic.
