Danielle never gives up hope of finding her son, and senses that he still lives. Do you think parents have a sixth sense about the well-being of their children?

I do. When my son was living in England I always woke up in the morning with some foreboding if I sensed he was having a rough time and he would be in my thoughts all day. Inevitably, he would call or Skype soon after to talk about a problem he was having

Yes, as a mother I think that Danielle was very realistic in believing that her son was still alive or she would have sensed that he was dead.

I absolutely believe parents have a sixth sense about their children. As a mother, I have sensed things with all three of my children. I just think the connection is so strong between a mother and a son/daughter that it is inevitable.

This is a hard question for me to answer. My instinct is to say no but I don't have children so I can't really say. This instinct is one of the problems I had with the book. I felt that Danielle's instinct about Nicky was purely a plot device to keep us thinking about him. But given the responses of the others who are probably mothers, I may need to rethink my position.

Well maybe some do, but I sure don't. I have three daughters and while I believe I know them quite well, I have no sixth sense about them.....maybe I would if someone really bad happened...I don't want to find out!

Definitely I do. I also think that the author used this sixth sense thru out the book to foreshadow turns and twists in the plot, leading the reader along and leaving them wanting to see what was going to happen down the road to Nicky.

I do believe in mother's intuition. It has happened to me many times.

I have no experience as a mother but that part of the story (unlike other aspects) did not feel far-fetched or unbelievable. Maybe that was because the author let us know as readers that Nicky was, in fact, alive and we all knew that it was only a matter of time before this mother and son were reunited.

As a mother, I do believe this! In the book, Danielle never gave up on believing that Nicky was still alive and would be found.

I do think they can sense when something is wrong. I have had times when I should have been worried but just knew everything was ok.

I do not know f I have a sixth sense about my children. If I do I am always there trying and hoping the best for them. I also know I would not give up believing they were still alive.

Definitely. My mother certainly knew when something was off for me. She would call me and ask specific questions.

Absolutely. Women especially have insight. Never doubt intuition. In my life experience, when I feel something in my soul, it is almost always correct.
