Added to setting and character. Added texture, allure convincing the reader she is a true 'nose'

Danielle's keen sense of smell adds dimension & 'flavor' to this tale. It made this story more interesting.

As the reader, it definitely awakened my sense of smell and was a wonderful thread woven from beginning to end starting with the title and permeating every chapter through the Epilogue. I actually chuckled to myself when I read this line from the very end of the book: She drank in the delicious, virile smell of him, loving how the scent of his skin melded with the perfume she had blended for him for this day - blood orange and orange blossom, patchouli and sandalwood, cinnamon and clove. Describing a smell as "virile" got my silly bone for some reason.

Her sense of smell takes us to the mood of the moment, whether it be romance, nostalgia, enticement, lightness, mystery, boldness, shyness, etc. Each emotion has a scent. I am especially enjoying this book because I just recently discovered the use of essential oils.

The descriptions of all the scents made me more aware of them in my life. I never thought much about perfume. I use what I got as gifts mostly. The descriptions of various things added realism and depth to the book.

I really liked the sense of smell and the introductory comments for the chapters. Besides setting I felt the smells helped in characterization.

I have always loved perfume. I think it can say a lot about a person. I found it fascinating how Danielle made different perfume's for special occasions. I felt that her strong sense of smell really added to the cohesiveness of the book.

Her keen sense of smell added to the story. Memories quickly come forward when scents are involved. It was a good dimension that you usually do not find on literature.

i do not like perfume smells especially the strong ones that linger on after someone lives the room. To be in the perfume making business, I would think someone would have to have a keen sense of smell. I liked the way the story flows as she does smell all the fragrances around her. It is springtime here and the smells of new beginnings are wonderful.
