Do you think the fortune-teller's prophecy for Pavla and Danilo comes true? Why or why not?

"One of you will be brave, one of you will be a coward. One of you will believe. One of you will doubt." Do you think the fortune-teller's prophecy for Pavla and Danilo comes true? Why or why not?

RE: Do you think the fortune-teller's prophecy for Pavla and Danilo comes true? Why or why not?

Yes, it has.
Danilo has been cowardly in that he does not try to help Pavla when she is undergoing the stretching or expressing his love when she is the Wolf Girl. He does not doubt that she is still alive and seeks her with the belief he will find her.
Pavla is consistently brave as she undergoes her many trials. It is more difficult to say she either doubts or believes as she forgets Dinelo and her past lives.

I found it interesting because it really wasn't a prophecy since it was already true that one was brave (Pavla) and the other (Danilo) a coward.

Yes, I think the prophecy came true: One fell in love and one was brave. At times, it was Danilo who was brave and fell in love, and at times it was Pavla who was brave and fell in love.

RE: Do you think the fortune-teller's prophecy for Pavla and Danilo comes true? Why or why not?

When the fortune teller says this, both Pavla and Danilo have failed to confess their love for one another. But as they are forced to undergo their separate journeys through life, each of them shows bravery in other ways. Both of them suffer doubts as well as belief in loyalty and love: Danilo in his protection of Pavla from being shot, in his quest to find her even as a wolf, and in his adoption of Markus, seeking to look after him even before Markus accepts him (after Markus steals the bread); Pavla in her bonding with the wolves, her seeking her missing cub, her friendship with Ivan and her return to her parents, which leads her to prison, and her efforts to befriend Iveta. So all of the prophecy comes true for each of them, even though the way it's spoken, we're led to expect otherwise. Maybe that's the author's way for pointing out that doubts define faith, that fear defines courage, the way night defines day. We have to accept both as part of being human.

All of the answers above seem to fit. I had, lie renem, thought about it not being a prophecy. I do believe they were brave and cowardly at different times on their journey, depending on the circumstances at the time. I believe this is true in real life also.

Both had moments of bravery and cowardice... I think they both experienced love in many ways too. This is what made them believable characters.

RE: Do you think the fortune-teller's prophecy for Pavla and Danilo comes true? Why or why not?

I didn't feel like it was a real or a detailed prophecy. I was disappointed with it. It felt like something fortune tellers tell everyone. It wasn't detailed enough to really mean anything. I don't feel like only one of them was in doubt. It felt like both were. Pavla doubted his love for her & Danilo was constantly trying to figure out if he was crazy in believing that she could transform into a wolf. The author could've written a much more satisfying & predictive prophecy. It just felt like the fortune teller gave them a generic fortune to get them to leave her tent. I also don't feel like only one of them was brave & the other a coward. I think they both exhibited bravery & cowardice throughout the story. So, no, I don't think the prophecy comes true.

Yes, Pavla remained brave and Danilo continued to be unsure ,indecisive and cowardly. Maybe not a prophecy because that is how they were in the beginning.
