This book was fantastic! My first five star read of the year! I couldn't get it out of my mind and even persuaded my husband to read it (he usually reads about one book a year), and he really enjoyed it as well. The writing was great, the pace was perfect, and I just couldn't figure out what was going to happen next.

THE LAST FLIGHT, full of plot twists and interwoven characters, was a fun read. It forced my attention trying to unravel what was happening and then, just when I thought I had it, some new twist complicated matters again! The ending was something I did not expect. Very nice.

I enjoyed it, held my interest and had enough twists and turns that I was surprised. I liked the writer's style and ordered her earlier book -- The Ones We Choose -- and hope it's as good.

Interesting premise - if one needed to disappear would the choice be to leave quickly, book a flight and hope to find someone at the airport needing to do the same thing? This psychological thriller does just that, Claire and Eva each need to find ways to vanish. They happen to meet at the airport and create a scheme to switch their tickets. This well written story gives enough details about the past and present of both characters to see how they parallel and intertwine throughout, enough to keep my wanting to turn the pages. Although this is being labeled as a psychological thriller, I found it to be a simmering, suspenseful story I enjoyed reading.
This is what I have posted here under "Reader Reviews" and on Goodreads

I thought the book was great! I read it in two sittings. It was just the right length. I found myself satisfied with the outcomes for the characters. Both characters were engaging and had me rooting for them. The situation in Berkeley was very interesting. I rated the book four stars.

This was a good, fast-paced read with all of the twists and turns one could possibly want from a thriller. The characters were believable, the premise of the story was authentic and the ending was a surprise. Just what I want from a "psychological thriller".

I had trouble following the two timelines. Especially at first, I found it hard to make the switch from Claire who tells her story in first person and always in the present time, beginning the day she meets Eva and over the course of one week. Eva’s story is told in third person, with many flashbacks beginning 6 months before, and culminating the day she met Claire. I just don’t like the non-linear style used by so many authors today. I did like the well written plot and the twists that made me stop and say wow, I didn’t see that coming!

I thought that it was fantastic. The book kept me guessing until the end and kept my attention. I loved the two time lines as a way to learn more about the lives of each person.

Overall I found this mystery very compelling and interesting. However, there were some relationships and friendships that were tied up too neatly and were unbelievable. Because of this I would only give it three stars.

This book is riveting from beginning to end! I seldom would make such a statement about most of the new titles I have read. I concur with all the comments made before my post. The author immediately draws the reader into her plot. The writing is excellent and very fast paced. The situations of both protagonists are very understandable--often it is difficult to follow two storylines happening at the same time with some novels. Definitely a five star recommendation from me.

Much like a Lifetime movie on TV, The Last Flight is a welcome diversion and fills some quarantine hours. Claire and Eva are both damaged women and interestingly, their stories are told from different points of view: Claire’s in the first person and Eva’s in third person. Those differing points of view pull us closer to Claire’s story and keep Eva at arms-length. Perhaps the author does this because Claire is a character who deserves our sympathy whereas Eva may not. While the story moves at a lively pace, the plot is predictable and the surprise ending no surprise.

I loved it - couldn't put it down. I liked the pace and the shorter chapters moving from one to the other. The story was unique in that it moved from past to present for one character and present to past for the other. For me, it didn't trigger the ending. I can't wait to pass this along to my family and friends. Definitely a 5 star for me. It was even better than I anticipated. I like this genre and this is the best I've read so far this year. A hard act to follow.

Perfect quarantine read! Needed to pay enough attention to follow plot lines but not too complicated! I enjoyed it and have already recommended to family and friends.

I was really impressed with this book. When it arrived, I was reading a 2019 best seller but I picked up "The Last Flight" to read the first chapter. I was instantly hooked! I finished "The Last Flight" in two days.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. There were very few events of convenience -- the "yeah like that would really happen" -- and I liked that. Too many thrillers have more coincidences than they should. I liked the writing. Didn't get confused because Claire was first person and Eva was third person. Agree that it was a great book for a lock-down.

i don't often read this genre and so wasn't sure if i would find it engaging. I was delighted that it was much more than merely engaging. Clarke very skillfully developed the plot and left subtle hints that still left the ending to be a shock, although in retrospect I should have figured it out. This was a smart thriller with believable characters, although in an unbelievable situation. The back stories were solid and the whole thing was very tight and well written. I would definitely recommend this and read other of her books.

I loved this book. Once started, I had to stay with it to see what would happen next. I felt for both Claire and Eva, but couldn't imagine being one of them with what they chose to endure. But desperate people do desperate things. When I think of the quarantine, I will think of this book. Thank you.

I absolutely loved this book! The plot kept me hooked, and I felt the anticipation in the thrilling scenes as though I was watching a movie (heartbeating & tension, how is she going to get through this!?) It was so fun and enjoyable to read, and the bravery of both main characters was inspiring. This is sure to be a best seller!

I really enjoyed the book. It kept my curiosity peaked, sometimes, couldn't put it down. Only the end disturbed me. Wish it was different. Good material for a movie.
