I really enjoyed this read... I found myself smiling several times as I read.. It was quirky, delightful, and full of many interesting thoughts.. " A laugher is the most important person in a child's life......"

Thoroughly enjoyable. I wish I had had a grandmother when I was growing up. The line that was meaningful to me was "A grandmother is both a sword and a shield."

I really likes this book. I laughed out loud in a few places, and I truly enjoyed Granny's sense of humor. Since I'm going to be a grandmom in a couple months I found myself taking notes. She's not a bad role model. Although I don't know any foreign languages. I thought that was the coolest thing, that Elsa thought they had their own secret language. Maybe I'll take a crash course in German.

I really wanted to like this book...loved the title...but it was a little too quirky for me...I couldn't get into it and had to stop reading it.
