Do you ever "talk" to people with whom you've had a connection, who are no longer living?

Patricia continues to talk with her partner even after his death, even though she doesn't believe in an afterlife. Do you think this is a common reaction to a loved one's death? Do you ever "talk" to people with whom you've had a connection, who are no longer living?

I'm not sure if this is common or not. I just know that I haven't yet but you never know what the future holds.

RE: Do you ever

In Patricia's case, I can see how she would continue her conversations with Dennis. Presently, I only recall/hear words of deceased ancestors for I can still yak with my living other half!

I don't talk to them in the sense that I ask questions and expect to hear an answer, but I do find myself in situations that cause me to remember what others have said in past, similar situations or events.

Not very often but sometimes when something major happens I send a sllent message to my grandmother and/or my father, I believe they are watching....

I agree with susiej. I often remember things my loved ones who have passed valued or said and I am influenced by that. I could change it to conversations if I chose, but I value my heritage and that influences what I do and how I behave.

Absolutely! I find peace in my one-sided conversations with both my parents.

I know people who have ongoing "conversations" with those who've passed, but I'm definitely not one of them. I tend to remember people who have died fondly, particularly when I see something that reminds me of them, but no, I don't feel like I'm communicating with them in any way.

No, I don't "talk" with people who are no longer living, but I do find myself wondering what they might do in certain instances. Then my memories kick in, and I can imagine what their advice might be for me. My memories are my connection to those who have passed away.

I don't speak aloud to people with whom I have known in the past, however, I remember their advice to me when I have been in predicaments in the past. I have those memories of their counsel to help me deal with current situations that arise. So I guess I kind of speak with them in my brain.

I don't have conversations with them, but my mother, father, and my Granny "talk" to me daily through my memories of them and the values that they instilled in me and my sister.
