What surprised you the most about the plot?

I was surprised about two things. One was that Eva had changed her seat and was actually on that plane.
I also surprised to learn the identity of Clair's husband's secretary and that she played such a role in liberating Clair.

I was surprised about Danielle as well. I was also surprised that Dex was actually Fish.

THE LAST FLIGHT is not my usual genre. I was worried that it might not hold my attention, but as page after page turned, the surprises kept me interested. When it was revealed that Eva's plan to leave the queue at the airport, dye her hair, and disappear into Brooklyn did not happen, I was shocked.

Danielle. If she knew about Claire's situation with her husband, why didn't she find some way to help her before Claire felt she had to disappear.

A couple of things surprised me. Changing tickets with a complete stranger, and the ending. There were hints thrown in the story, yet, I didn't think the story would end the way it did.

What surprised me most was that Dex was Fish. Secondly, that Danielle was trying to help Clair and wasn't who Clair thought she was. Finally, Eva getting on the plane in the end.

1. How did Eva pick Claire? The book didn't give me a clue. It sounded like Eva was looking for Claire and "found" her.
2. That Dex was Fish. This was well done.

There were several things that surprised me. I was surprised that Dex and Fish were the same person and I was also surprised that Danielle was actually helping Claire in her own way.

I didn't see it coming that Dex was actually Fish. I also thought that Eva got off the plane!

I agree that I was surprised that Dex was Fish.
I also was surprised about Danielle.
I was surprised that Claire gave herself away at the gallery hosting where she was working. I did not think her husband would have a way of finding out she was alive unless there was some record on the plane of Claire's not having been on the plane.
The book kept me thinking! Fun!

1. That Eva really did get on the plane and really did die.
2. That Danielle not only wanted to help Claire, but that Danielle is Liz's daughter. When that came out, it became clear how Eva had targeted Claire to make the switch.
3. That Dex and Fish are the same person.
4. The final text reported from Danielle to Claire that Rory had someone looking for her and the someone was a large man with a tattoo sleeve. I never fully got the "why" of that text and how it related to the CNN driver who fit the description. I thought for a minute that Rory really had found a way to spirit Claire away to be disposed of. I still wonder about the source of that text.

I was very surprised that Claire went public with her story - so brave! - and I guess I shouldn't underestimate her courage! I was also surprised to see that Danielle was Liz's daughter - I began to suspect there was a connection but I thought that it was a very clever way to link Liz to Claire!

I agree with the response from all the messages, especially juliaa. The final chapter revealed so many twists and turns. A great ending!

What surprised me first was Dex/Fish’s identity. I was also surprised that Danielle was Liz’s daughter. Too much of a coincidence that she worked for Rory, keeping tabs on Claire, and her mom, Liz, was a visiting professor at Berkeley, and Eva’s duplex neighbor!!!

I was surprised a lot reading this book! The Dex/Fish connection, that Danielle was Liz's daughter, and that Eva got on the plane. I loved all of it!

What surprised me the most was that Claire agreed to trade airline tickets with a complete stranger. Before the exchange, Eve had heard about Claire on the news. She also overheard Danielle talking about Claire. Eve knew exactly what she was doing.

Connection between Danielle and Eva. And Eva's end. I think she deserved a second chance.
