As I read about Jack's character, he struck me as someone who was more of a stalker and had intentions toward Two that were far more nefarious than that of an admirer. Especially after the scene in the tree.

Jack Older was a very disturbed and disturbing character. In a way, I was glad we never found out what his true intentions were in regard to Two Feathers. I am sure they were not good. As to why he killed the animals, I think there was a little bit of both, he was certainly mad that he was fired and the animals were certainly an easy revenge for him. But I also think it was a way for him to hurt Two Feathers. He was aware of her love of these animals and was probably jealous of the time she spent with them, something he was never going to have.

Jack Older is a creepy character. He killed animals because he was fired and to hurt Two because he thought she rejected him. Glad the ghost took care of him before he could physically harm Two.
