This phrase in many ways coincides with my own thinking. People and love enter and exit from our lives, but, truly, in the end, we leave alone.

I can't disagree with the statement but I do find it sad. I don't like to think that my husband doesn't really know me and I don't really know him, and as one of us departs it'll be a journey each of us takes alone, but I suppose that's the truth of it.

I honestly can’t relate to this statement. There are many forms of love beyond romantic love - for example, familial, friends, spiritual, and self. I tend to think we are all surrounded by love potentially for a lifetime.

I agree with the statement. Yes, there are always many forms of love around us, but in order to have a satisfying life you have to be okay being alone.

Yes, we are alone, and we face this reality many times in our lives. The realization comes, generally, when we are sad and probably grieving a loss or a mistake. I feel that if we are working satisfactorily toward a goal, we are pleased with this aloneness and feel self-satisfied and content with this knowledge of being alone and doing well.

Love is just a temporary feeling that gets us through this moment in time. It is not forever and hasn’t always been. People come and go even those who stay “forever”. I think it’s a beautiful way to put it.
