Were you surprised by the ways in which each of the apartment tenants was connected to the others? Which relationship surprised you the most? Why?

I agree with "Tired Bookreader." The brothers were the most unexpected tenants. Incidentally, I didn't laugh once while reading it--comic accuracy as mentioned on the back cover? And rereading the book might give me more of an understanding of the story.

The relationship between Granny and each of the other tenants, individually. It came as a surprise to me, too, that Granny was the reason that each of them was there. Guess that makes Granny the most surprising character for me, even though the author gives us a sense of comfort that we know Granny well right from the start.

The brothers' relationship surprised me most.
I can't imagine not laughing while reading this book. There were hilarious places in it - especially with the wurse. I'm glad Wolfheart explained that the wurse was old and tired.
I'm going to read it again because of the places in it I wanted to underline, but didn't.
Loved the book - finally!
