Theme of music in the book.

Given its title, how does the author weave in this theme and how does it affect the story?

The theme of music runs throughout the book. Beside the main character of the Old Musician, music is known to stir our memories and cause us to remember an event long forgotten. Music goes along with the other theme of memory.

Music is something which can soothe the mind and the soul--it is a gift.

I loved the theme of music not only as the structure of the book but also as the theme tying all of the stories and people together. As a musician myself, I think that the melodies woven throughout the movements helped me feel more of the characters emotions.

I think music is something that touches us all and becomes tied to all of ur memories. From the songs we hear our mothers sing, to songs that bring back past loves, to songs that always make us feel good, they carry so much importance

Music is powerful, the effect that sound waves have on our psyche is unlimited. The author explores this as music permeates the novel.

Most everyone is touched by music. This was the language of this book. Music carries memories and also stimulates dreams of the future. It can make us sad or happy, relaxed or energized.

Music in the book is a universal language of memory and future hopes. But for music, would Teera have returned at all? The Old Musician promised her the musical instruments the had belonged to her father; that was the immediate motivation for her trip. Music tied the present to the past. Beyond the actual music, the narrative is so beautifully written that the words themselves are like music.

music conjures up so much more, its more of a feeling and in this regard, it is associated with the past.

I felt as if the theme of music in the book tied all of the stories and people together.
