Inconsistencies

I felt that there were several instances of inconsistencies in this book. For example, Ptarmigon was introduced as being in a wheelchair; yet, when the meeting for new members was held it was stated that the level of physical fitness would be a consideration. Again, when Cora and Jim and Maggie went swimming, Maggie quickly retreated from the deeper water suggesting that she was unable to swim well. Minutes later, she was diving into the water and, even later, there was a passage about her going swimming in a pool of a house that her dad had a listing for. I think there were a couple of other times that I also felt there were inconsistencies but I cannot recall them right now.
