I liked the book. I have enjoyed all of her books. I learned a lot about what happened to these women years ago. A very good read. Would be wonderful for book clubs. I actually bought a hard copy before this book was offered and am glad I have a hard back to add to my home library.

I was disappointed. I loved Orphan Train and didn't like this as much as I thought I would. Usually I would finish a book this size in a couple of days but I didn't feel compelled to read it. I liked it but didn't love it. I love historical fiction but there was something missing for me. I am going to pass it along to some friends to get their take on it. For me, this was a three star book.

I enjoyed this book. I loved being immersed in the setting and timeframe combination. I have read books set in Australia, and books set in the mid 1800s ... but never that combination. Historical fiction-wise, it was really interesting to learn about the convict transfer process (that it even existed!), life during and after transfer, and read the story of a Native Australian - of whom I know nothing! I enjoyed the story thoroughly!

This was an amazing book! So much information about cultures and history. The characters were well developed and just came to life to me. I have recommended it for my book group - when we can meet again.

I am not a big fan of this book, I felt it didn't have a smooth flow. I felt for all the hard times they faced, that the end was a trifle far fetched

I enjoyed the book very much. There were places I wish it was expanded because the time period and setting are not well known to me.

The Exiles was an outstanding book. I was fortunate enough to have won an ARC copy via an Instagram giveaway by The Girly Book Club. I absolutely loved it. The characters were well fleshed out, the story was believable, and the author’s writing was beautiful.
