How did you react to the epilogue?

On the final page, the book concludes with an unconventional epilogue listing Ona’s accomplishments. How did you react to it?

I absolutely loved the epilogue. It made me smile to know that both Ona and Quinn continued their journeys and did what they could to fulfill the boy's dream. I also enjoyed knowing that Quinn continued looking out after Ona, and that they developed a friendship.

I, too, like the ending a great deal. These are very special people, and I liked knowing that they go on together, looking after one another and working on completing their goals, long after I closed the book.
I became very invested in these two characters especially, and I appreciated that the author allowed me to know a bit of their futures. It was a most fitting closure.

It was great to know that Quinn and Ona continued their relationship and fulfilled the boy's desire to get Ona in the record book. What a way to finish reading a book— with a smile!

I agree with kimk. I loved it. I was so thrilled to see she lived so long and beat so many records. I knew the boy was smiling down from heaven.

I enjoyed the epilogue. It answered the question about Ona's determination to continue to live a full life.

It was a great and powerful way to end the book. It was good to see Ona making it into the record books with several different records. The boy would have been proud!

With many smiles. What a great way to wrap up this novel! It made me believe that Miss Ona Vitkus would achieve her goal of being the oldest living human, and that is a very good thing for many people.

What a wonderful ending to this uplifting book! I was thrilled to read that Ona, with the help of Quinn, went on to accomplish all the goals that she had set with the boy's encouragement. Wonderful to see that Quinn learned how to be a friend.

It made me feel good to know that Ona had lived another 6 years and traveled back to her homeland.

I loved it-- thought it was unexpected which is probably what made it so great. Monica Wood really nailed it
