Whom do you believe Belle should have chosen, Quinn or Ted?

I originally hoped she would choose Quinn. I think because I thought that would help heal Quinn, and I wanted him to heal. However, I think Belle made the right choice. With Ted, she could move on. It also forced Quinn to move on. I think it turned out the way it should be.

At some point, Belle said something like " I thought I wanted to be married to a musician (free spirit) type, but really what I want is someone who is home every night and helps out with raising my son."
Even though I wanted Quinn to have her back, I could see that Ted was the traditional, super responsible husband that she had wanted all along.

I believe she was right in choosing Ted. There was too much bad history with Quinn. With Ted she can start over. With Quinn there would always be his guilt of not being a good father. Also this was not a novel that should have had that kind of a happy forever after type of ending.

I feel she made the right choice in Ted. Had she and Quinn gotten back together, I don't think the relationship would have lasted. Often times, the old hurts can not be overcome, and all the old baggage and sadness come back to destroy, rot renew or successfully restart, a relationship.

The romantic in me wanted Belle to choose Quinn, but I knew that because that's what I wanted to happen, that it would not be the case. She would choose Ted. And she was right to do so. Quinn was not strong enough or responsible enough to provide Belle with what she needed, and Ted was. I think that is part of what made the book so satisfying. When characters grow, and we can watch them do so, we become pretty satisfied readers - we also can learn something, and that is one of the best reasons I know for reading.

That's a good question. I understood that choosing Ted was meant to be the better, safer, more stable choice. I did wonder whether choosing Quinn would have been the better choice in terms of her future growth and evolvement. It certainly wouldn't have been the easier choice.

Belle dreamed of having a family. She wanted a husband to share her life with. Living with Quinn left her lonely. Ted was the best choice. He was a loving family man who doted on her. He also loved her son. It's hard to find good men who love your children from a previous marriage, especially when they are different.

I agree with the others on that I thought it should be Ted to heal him. He needs to himself. I believed the boy is the one that help him heal. No matter the different paths, it all intervined with the boy. I think she need a little more time before marrying Ted. I believed that was the best choice for her.
