Do you have hope for Jeremy? What kind of future do you imagine for him?

Peggy says that Jeremy plans to live with her and eventually go to school if he wins the trial, which he does. Do you have hope for Jeremy? Do you think that he finds a new boyfriend, or that he ends up moving to San Francisco as he planned to with Sam? What kind of future do you imagine for Jeremy?

Yes, I do have hope for Jeremy. Over the course of the novel, he seemed to recognize the value of his support system. Through Lee and her friends, he saw that there is another way to happily live a life, even if it is one that his parents do not support.

I have great hope for Jeremy. He is a good soul. He will overcome his upbringing with the help of the reasonable people who care for him. With time, education and maturity he will find his way to a good place.

Once past his religious upbringing, and mind set that homosexuality is a sin, I think Jeremy will do fine. Put in an environment of openness and mutual respect, one that allows him to be himself, I think he will learn to overcome any past bigotry and condemnation.

I think once his trust is reestablished, and he is ready, that San Francisco would be ideal for him, whether he chose to just visit or relocate. Regardless of the dynamic, being with those of the same mind set is usually confidence building.

I think Jeremy's life will be successful. He was strong eventhough this story showed his vulnerable side. I think Lee's friends Mark and Bobby will take him under their wings and help him to heal. Also, the other characters that were on his side will help him. Not sure about his mom though. And definitely not his dad.

I liked Jeremy a lot and I would hope that he would be able to have a relatively happy and productive life. I do, however, recognize that he has been damaged by his home life and the horrible circumstances of being thrown own on the streets by his parents because of his sexuality and also loving and losing his first love to a vicious murder. He has a lot to oversome and it can be done, hopefully with the help of loving supporters and therapy.

We saw a big change in Jeremy from the beginning of the book through the end. He was so full of self loathing that he would have gladly taken a guilty conviction for something he didn't do as a way of punishing himself. I think one of the wisest decisions Lee made in his case was to introduce him to her friends Mark and Bobby. Jeremy was so incredibly isolated and indoctrinated growing up in his church environment. He needed to meet people who he could relate to- -good people, kind people, loving people, who also happened to be gay.

I feel like his aunt is very in tune with what he needs and will make sure to provide that for him. He now has a loving, safe home. Peggy has the resources to help him heal. And it seems he already has an extended, supportive community- -Lee, his defense team, and Mark and Bobby have become his friends. I get the sense they will remain in each other's lives.

I think San Francisco was a dream because it was so far removed from where Jeremy and Sam were in Colorado. No one knew them there, and the idea of it represented a real chance to completely start over. As Jeremy begins to develop a more positive sense of self and accepts that he is worthy of the love from his new "family", I don't think leaving Boulder will be necessary for him to become who he wants to be.

I do have hope for Jeremy. I don’t think it will be easy for him as he will always have issues stemming from the way he was brought up by parents that threw him out for being who he is. My hope is that he would go to school, get some therapy and gain the self confidence to feel good about who he is. He is so young. As he matures and feels supported for the first time in his life, his chances of finding happiness are good.

I agree with acstrine above - Jeremy's change from the beginning of the book to the end bodes well for his future. In addition, he knows now what can happen if he lets himself be a victim. I think his road will be difficult but he will understand and develop compassion based on his own experiences.

I have hope that Jeremy will overcome his upbringing and make a success of his life. He now has a strong support system (his aunt, Mrs. Weissmann, Mark and Bobby) and is starting to understand that the views of his mother and Leonard are not the only way of looking at the world. And I think Lee will stay in touch. There were several indications that she saw him as more than just a client, so I think she will be there to help guide him.

I have great hopes for Jeremy. He knew nothing about the gay community including their love and caring. By meeting other gays he will be welcomed and appreciated for who he is and will learn how wrong the skinheads are and hopefully will be able to forgive himself.

I do have hope for Jeremy. He has found a group of like minded people who will support him in his recovery. He is a good person that will need extensive therapy to cope with grief. He had the strength to do the right thing in the case. He was courageous announcing his innocence after his guilty confession. He has the strength to make a life for himself.
