Oh yes, she was justified in doing so. I believe it was for Elizabeth's protection and her own. I know this incident was based on fact and still can't believe she didn't know what was going on, given that Seymour had previously courted Elizabeth.

She was torn between wanting Elizabeth punished for her betrayal with Seymour and wanting to protect her reputation. I think that she was too easy on Elizabeth.

She realized that it was for the best for Elizabeth and herself. Thomas would have brought all of them down.

I absolutely do. Elizabeth betrayed Katherine so greatly to the point Elizabeth could not be trusted.

I think Katherine was trying to protect Elizabeth as well as trying to preserve her relationship with Seymour. Someone like Princess Elizabeth was a pawn in the political game and her perceived purity was saleable on the marriage market. People who had knowledge of this episode must have been in danger from those who were backing Elizabeth.

Katherine sent Elizabeth away as the best solution to a sticky situation. This protected Katherine and Elizabeth both. Any other solution would have been scandalous. Katherine could not risk a scandal.

Katherine sent Elizabeth away for Elizabeth's protection, and for her own. She also wanted to eliminate the possiblity of easy access to Elizabeth for Seymour. The decision was completely justified. It was obvious to her that neither Elizbeth nor Seymour could be trusted.

She was definitely justified in sending Elizabeth away for all the reasons stated above. It is just so unfortunate that she didn't send Thomas away much earlier. For such a seemingly bright, intellectual woman, she sure was dumb when it came to Seymour. Eventually he got his just rewards but Katherine suffered greatly because of him.

Katherine sent Elizabeth away to protect Elizabeth from Seymour and to protect Elizabeth from herself. Seymour's ultimate goal was to possess the maximum amount of power and would do anything to get it, even to ruin the reputation of the girl who would one day be Queen. Katherine was completely justified in her actions.
