I'd like a chapter from Rose's perspective. She was portrayed in a very negative manner-- I'm sure she has a story, too!

Hmmm, I'm generally one who accepts books the way they've been presented to us -- for better and for worse.
That said . . . if forced to, I might opt for *less* of an ending rather than adding to it. I sort of felt that the ending of both story lines gave us an easy way out. They were "happy" endings of a sort, when I think the book might have been better served leaving things dangling in a tougher way. Most things were resolved for our characters in a comfortable way, and that seemed a bit too neat and tidy for me. Everyone got some version of what they wanted/needed.
But, but, I guess I wouldn't have minded spending a few more pages roaming the redwood forests, mountains, and deserts with Thatcher.

I would have liked an additional chapter on Mary Treat. She was the best part of the book for me, and I was disappointed that the author spent more time on Thatcher than Mary. It was obvious at the end that Willa's next project would be to write a biography of Treat and I would have looked liked to read more about Mary. I think Kingsolver is at her best when she is writing about science.
