The themes of tokenism and fetishization are prominent in this book. Discuss how they each played out with the women and what impact that had on them in the book.

Kemi gets the job in Sweden because of an advertising fiasco that had racial overtones, so Jonny's company presumes that in adding someone of color to it's ranks, they can take some "heat" of them. In essence when she joins the company she's just a token to give the appearance of liberalism to the company. Brittany s Jonny's fetish because of her co!or and a previous obsession with someone of co!or. Both tokenism and fetishism support racism because in both cases people often can't see the trees from the forest, if you will. That is, sometimes in our desire to appear liberal we don't get to the root of the " why" we do things.

Kemi is supposed to be the poster child for the company who wants to prove they are racially and gender inclusive. When Ragnar comes on board, looks like operations may be reverting to the old ways.
Britteny made a big time deal with the devil who had to marry her because she looked just like his dead former fiance.
While Kemi decides she should leave, Brittany feels as if there is no exit for her.
Not sure how/if these 2 themes affected Muna.

Kemi is hired by Jonny's team as a token for a newly created position without the role being fully defined. Kemi is just window dressing (a token) so the reputation could be restored and to lure new business.
Jonny because of his past has a fetish regarding Brittany and his family's money, status and their closeness to the Royal Family was allowed to indulge in his fetish without him or his family seeking out help for me.
