Garrett was in a foster home and lives with Clyde, who is a bit odd. He's isolated and not part of the community. Daniela has the issue of not being a citizen and the possibility of deportation. Cadie is into trees, nature, etc and hides behind her research. In most small towns, to be like others is to belong and be accepted.
