I identified with Cadie. She held on to her environmental beliefs, yet held onto the strength of her family and friends.

My younger self identified with Cadie. She is an idealistic person, bending the rules for what she envisions as the great good, while also not having the maturity to see the big picture or taking the time to really flush out possibilities other than what shows up immediately in her head.

I also identified with Cadie, especially in the past sections--I also felt like a bit of an outsider growing up and had one very close friend.

No - there weren't. That is the only real down for me in this book...there was never a character I cared about...I didn't dislike them I just didn't really identify with anyone. I wanted to care about Cadie and her commitment but it just didn't happen for me.

I identified with Cadie because she believed in fighting for cause of saving the forest and other environmental issues plus her need for a strong friendship. Both of these have been important to me.

I'd like to think I identified with Cadie because she had the backbone to stand up for what she believed in and the importance of it to other people.
