How do you think the movie will be?

I've started to see promos for the movie which will be released this summer. I hope they cast it well and will be curious to see if they remain true to the book. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I always worry about the film version of a book that I have especially liked, but still, I am looking forward to this one and hoping for a good movie.

While I was reading, I kept picturing a young Joanne Woodward as Skeeter. Unfortunately that won't happen.

I just saw the trailer last night. It looks like it will be really good and the characters true to the book.

I read The Help last year, usually a little distance from reading a book makes it a little easier to just enjoy the movie.

I'm hesitant, because I am not a huge fan of books being turned into movies, but I will try to remain open minded. We have a rule in my house, you cannot see the movie until you have read the book!

I rarely like a movie thats taken from a book that I really loved. There have been some exceptions so hopefully this will be one of them. The movie trailer looks good but I am waiting to see the reviews of the movie from people who read the book.

I agree in re: screen adaptations but sometimes they work out.

I definitely want to see the movie.

I understand WATER FOR ELEPHANTS isn't as good as hoped for. However, I thought that
the movie version of SHUTTER ISLAND was very good.

Time will tell.

I try to remember that books and films are totally different media; however, I seldom find the screen adaptation of a book I really enjoyed as satisfying as the book itself. There have been a few exceptions..."To Kill a Mockingbird" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" come to mind. Perhaps "The Help" will be such an exception.

saw the trailer...kind of outlandish compared to the book...reminded me of Nunsense in a way...I took the book fairly seriously and the movie trailer well it seems to be somewhat comical.

The previews look really good. I think they will need to spend more time detailing some of the parts where the book seemed to lacked enough detail so that the emotional impact is there. For example , the intense feelings of African-American's at the time of Medgar Edgars death.

I think the movie will be good. So far they are not bombarding us with publicity which is always a good sign. The more the hype.....the worse the movie is IMO.

Also there are not too many "name" actresses in the film so it's easy to lose yourself in the characters. For example if Julia Roberts is in a movie - she is always Julia Roberts.

I hope it will be good but so often movies are not true to the book and disappointing. I definitely plan on seeing it.
