Yes, I think Rachel helps the relationship between Naomi and Tyrell. She knows that Naomi loves Tyrell and is devastated when he breaks off with her. She is trying to help them see that they can love each other and do all the things they want to do together.

Rachel sees Tyrell as someone who has gone through difficult circumstances as she has. By talking to Tyrell she has helped him. Tyrell is now bold enough to continue the relationship.

I also think Rachel helps reinvigorate the relationship between Naomi and Tyrell because even though broke off the relationship Rachel sees it because how Tyrell has suffered and is afraid of permanent relationship she helps him see the positive in a relationship with Naomi even as she continues to struggle with her relation with her husband.
