How did you feel about the development of each of the characters?
Did you like them?
Did they resonate?

Certain characters resonated more than others. I particularly liked Hank Crawford whose character was well drawn in the book. The subplot of his courting of Bonita was both entertaining and thought-provoking. How much could you (or should you) change to win the heart of another person?
I actually found the character of Two Feathers to be one of the least compelling.

I thought that overall there was good character development of most of the major characters. I disliked Jack Older the first time he was introduced, and my dislike only grew further from there. I felt that the reader got to know Two Feathers very well over the course of the story and loved how she loved the animals.

It took me a bit to get into this book, but once I did I found it compelling. Crawford, Clive and Two were my favorites and I think I had adequate info to get to know them and care about them. Jack Older"s intent actually caught me off balance. I knew he was not a worthy person but didn't realize he could be so evil. I got a real kick out of Little Elk and thought his interactions really livened up the plot. Franny and Marty, two sisters who REALLY need to talk to each other, intrigued me. I was hoping for more of a development of their story line.

I thought the author did an excellent job of making the main characters and even some of the sub characters 3 dimensional - I had a solid sense of Two, Clive, Crawford, May, Little Elk and like all of them. The plate spinning sisters come across with realistic and divergent feelings.
The unpleasant characters, JacK and Christa Belle, were described well enough to cause you to not feel warm and fuzzy about them. Mr Shackleford written as a man of that time - you saw him evolving although I don't think we got to the bottom of his problem with Lewis. I also haven't decided if I like Lewis. I haven't made up my mind about Helen - I see her changing throughout the book and Edgar is still evolving at the end of the book - from what has been presented I like both. I still think I'd like to see more of all of them. I really miss Two, Clive & May and really hope Crawford doesn't mess up again.

I had a difficult time getting into the book because of the number of characters that were initially introduced, sometimes by last name, sometimes by first name. I thought Two was well developed, as well as Crawford and Clive. Yes, I loved Little Elk and consider him a main character in the story. There were many minor characters who helped in giving background on the time period and the setting. Overall, I enjoyed the book and there is certainly enough information for a lively discussion.

The main characters, as well as the auxiliary characters, were well developed as the book progressed. I, too, enjoyed the sections that included Little Elk and kept rooting for him to gain more strength and substance. Little did I suspect that it would happen at exactly the right time. I was a little disappointed that I didn’t learn what became of him, but then realized I knew exactly what happened with hi,.

I thought the characters in the book were well developed. I think the author could have done a better job of developing the plot, given the book's characterization. I think the author could have introduced the character of Little Elk a bit better. It took several pages and going back to reread to understand his purpose and place in the book.

I thought the author did a great job with character development. We got great descriptions and back stories for the main characters (Two Feathers, Clive, Little Elk, and Crawford). The lesser involved characters were painted in just enough light to make them interesting (the sisters, Jack, Crista, May).
