Qualities and expectations of female aviators

What qualities and expectations did the thousands of followers of the female pilots demand of them? How did this add pressure make their successes more difficult than their male counterparts?

I think the public expected the women to be perfect, pleasant and pretty. They were judged more harshly for their errors and had to fight for every opportunity.

The expectations of the women pilots was not that much. They were fluff. Often they were only allowed to go along for the ride. Instead, their brightness, spirit and tenaciousness shone through.

They needed to be brave, know how to fly and know their plane. Needed to make the right decisions as to what chances to take.

They need to be courageous, determined, and able to remain calm when faced with potential disasters.

I think they were expected to be perfect.

I think there was the expectation that they be as good, if not better, than male pilots while maintaining their looks and being feminine. You can see some of that in the photos. The female pilots wore dresses, etc. They definitely paved the way, and you can see eventually wore some of the same gear as the men.
