I enjoyed this book very much. Since it came later than expected, I was a little worried about finishing it quickly. I needn't have worried! It was hard to put down once I started reading. I really felt caught up in the story and wanted to find out all of the secrets. I think I will re-read it before passing it on to friends whom I share books with. Definitely a book that I am glad I chose to read!

I liked his novel very much. The plot line had lots of twists and turns and we readers had not only Leo and Emma to deal with, but the plot took us to several other situations and relationships - all which needed explained and resolved before we could solve the mystery. And it kept us on pins and needles before we were able to do that.
What I had a little trouble with was the author's less successful use of stylistic writing devices - I thought symbolism, for example, was incorporated less successfully than usual, her introduction and shift from character to character, her use of setting to create mood or tone - these are present in the novel but not as easily developed - the work does not flow as smoothly. But none of this got in the way of my reading, however, and I took them to be positive signs that Rosie Walsh is a developing writer to watch - one who has just finished an exciting psycho thriller - and one whose next work I am looking very much forward to reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and didn't want to put it down. I wanted to know the answers to all the questions about Emma's past and the secrets she withheld from Leo. I kept predicting what would happen, but it always turned out differently than I expected. Rosie Walsh did an especially masterful job of describing Emma's psychotic breakdown in the hospital. I thought the other characters were complicated and compelling, especially Jill and Janice. My only criticism was the author's many references to flatulence. I thought it was distracting and unnecessary.

I really enjoyed this book! It was such a page turner! I enjoyed the way Rosie Walsh artfully described scenes and events, and then would revisit later revealing a different "lens" through which the reader "saw" what was happening. If you enjoy reading thrillers and/or mysteries, this book is for you.

I really wanted to read this book after some of the reviews I'd seen, and thought the writing was well done at times, but I just couldn't relate to most of the characters. There were too many of them and too many serious subject plot lines that were handled awkwardly or clumsily in too little time: mental health issues, infertility, habitual lying, etc. that I just didn't find authentic.

I agree with many of the readers who looked forward to reading this novel and were not disappointed with the rapid pace of this page-turner for most of the first half; however, the story did slow down abruptly, somewhat for me, when Leo delved deeper into Emma's relationships with her father, Jeremy, Jocelyn, and her work colleagues. Upon reflection, of course, Walsh had to slow the narrative in order to present the how and why of Emma's life to Leo---and to the reader---and she ultimately delivers a satisfying ending. This novel is a good choice for book clubs.

I enjoyed The Love of My Life, though I'm not sure how to categorize it. There was definitely a domestic suspense plot, but the book moved much more slowly than a typical thriller. I think I might call it a literary mystery.
The characters were realistic and relatable, and the plot was compelling and kept me reading because I truly wanted to know the secrets.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I couldn’t predict what happened next or why but once explained it seemed reasonable. I am one of those mystery readers that are compelled to skip to the end to see where things are going to see if I want to read it but not this one
And even if I had I would have read it all to figure out how they got to the ending
Highly recommend it
