If you were to craft a scrapbook for isolated people, as the Pack Horse librarians did long ago, what would you include?

I think the scrapbooks that the Pack Horse librarians made were probably a fun thing for them to make, as well as, a fun and special book for the people to read and look at.
Would probably include recipes, list of books with descriptions for them to choose from, magazine and newspaper clippings, sewing patterns, child rearing advice tips, health tips. Scrapbooks for children could have animal pictures and brief descriptions, words and definitions, things to make and games to play.

My scrapbook would definitely be limited by what was available to me. I would probably ask regulars on my route if they had a recipe or family anecdote to contribute (and write it out for them if needed) and include song lyrics and drawings, too. Local “cures” could be listed and added to it disputed. I’d be mindful of my audience but try to slip in information on events in the outside world.

In my scrapbook, I would include anything that triggered a heartfelt memory of love; recipes, pictures, fabric swatches of favorite worn clothing, quotes that inspired, Scripture that guided thoughts, dried flowers that brought seasonal smiles, tickets from attended events, letters from loved ones, and personal journal entries to remember feelings in each phase of life.

If you mean for me to craft a scrapbook of my life right now it would include pictures of my grandchildren, books, quotes, etc., my book club, trips, etc.
If I was crafting a scrapbook for a shut-in I would try to include things I know they love, are interested in, their family and friends, and tidbits of positive current news.

Short antidotes, pictures, games, recipes, grooming hints, craft instructions, new or relocating businesses, church events, health tips, veterinarian hints, obituaries, birth announcements and marriages, new families to the area and the sale of houses or farms, items for sale and items wanted, school awards and graduations. Everything that is pertinent to the area and the people living there.
